Machine Embroidery Workshop
with renowned textile artist Jo Dewar.

Sunday 4th July 2010 ~ 10am ~ 4pm

This was our first ever artist workshop and this is how it went...

...the day began with an informal introduction to the subject. Jo talked about her textile background, her influences and how her style has developed since she began. Experimenting with colours, materials and techniques, everyone was encouraged to develop their own style. Before long the room was awash with colour.

The atmosphere was one of creativity (and excited banter) as everyone compared notes and discussed their work. Heads down, everyone busily went about creating their masterpiece. Barely stopping for lunch, supplied by local deli Quintessence, they continued throughout the afternoon and by 4 o'clock they had completed their bespoke journals.
 

A great day was had by all and we look forward to the next one! A big thank you to Jo for all her efforts (and wicked sense of humour), to Sean at Quintessence for supplying the food and of course to the ladies, without you there would not have been a workshop!
